Sennelier Oil Stick 38ml 759 Mars Black

Sennelier Oil Sticks allow artists to approach painting differently with oil paints. And with their brand new  packaging, Sennelier oil sticks are sure to make a wonderful addition to your artists studio. 

The Oil Stick is a composition of oil paint, the proportion of oil is substituted with a neutral mineral wax which results in it's stick appearance. This product is made with pure pigments which are selected for their low degree of yellowing with time. The high concentration of pigments and choice of pigment enables Sennelier Oil Sticks to have excellent light resistance.

Sennelier Oil Sticks can be used on a range of surfaces including canvas, canvas boards, laminated panels and paper. Solid oil paint should be applied in a relatively thin film, no more than 1mm. Layers can be overlapped in the same manner as paste oil paint and can, if necessary, be thinned with an oil turpentine or solvent. 

To use Sennelier Oil Sticks remove the surface film, this will later re-form after a few days of non use thus protecting the stick. The product can be stored for extended periods of time and requires no special attention, apart from avoiding heat sources that may damage it. 

After application paint can take 2-5 days to dry depending on the thickness of the layer and atmospheric conditions. Once dry, the paint may be varnished like conventional oil paint, after a minimum drying period of 6 months, using an oil paint suitable varnish. 

A transparent medium is also available within the range to assist with glazing techniques.
